Ever since the homeless population has been allowed to run amok and unchecked down on the University-end of South King Street, an oppressive pall of feces-scented stink permeates the entire area.  Time to do something to mitigate the situation, HPD/State Dept. of Health/somebody!  I saw someone squatting down to drop one at curbside across the street from McDonalds last week!

I’m driving in Kailua through a quiet residential neighborhood at the posted 30-mph.  Someone comes up on me from behind going at least twice that and buries their front bumper so close to my back bumper that I can only  see their black roof!  What kind of d!ck would drive like this in Kailua?  Oh, what’s this I see?  That roof has a distinct depression in the middle!  It’s a Prius!  Apparently it’s a Kailua Beach Road resident, Prius-driving kind of d!ck!  Kailua das’ why!

On the drive in to town today, there was a person in a white ES 300 intent on forcing her way into the left lane of Like Like in front of me, even though there was no space for her to fit, and there was no traffic in front of her!  She squeezed in right before the tunnel, whereupon I got into the right “slow” lane, and whizzed by traffic all the way to the freeway!  There was literally nobody in the right lane between the tunnel exit and the footbridge.  I guess she had to get into the left lane in Kaneohe in anticipation of making a left turn somewhere in Kalihi…

Sunday, Muddy Sunday

Super-bowl?

What is this “Super-bowl” thing you speak of?

Another sunny weekend beaconed us out to the trails again. The warm, blue skies fostered our expectations of dry conditions, but the reality was there had been reasonably heavy rain since last Saturday, probably somewhere in the last 48 hours. Scat had forgotten his SPD shoes in his rush to get out of the house. Rubber zori’s were not the ideal substitute, so he borrowed socks from Ckucke and BMX shoes from me. Days Like This

I love days like this.

Blue skies and warm sunlight follow me to Waimanalo, and a gentle sea breeze blows me up to the trailhead. Root, Scat, and Ckucke are already there, prepping their bikes for the ride. My Moment hasn’t been ridden for months, so the tires have gone soft and weird lint balls and dust have accumulated on it. I pump up the tires with the Silca Super Pista and run some Boeshield on the chain. Root’s chain is dry and squeaky like a robot out of a Miyazaki film, so he squirrels some of my lube. Drat! POS! I lost the left “Asian Fit” nosepiece off my Oakley Half Jackets sometime yesterday. Had to put the regular ones back on to protect my face from the sharp plastic mounting hooks. Hopefully there are more sets available at McBike…
